James Banovetz

Dr. Banovetz has experience applying theory and applied techniques in complex economic and financial litigation, with particular focuses on intellectual property, healthcare, and technology.

He has supported economic experts in valuing patents and copyrights by employing econometric and statistical methods to calculate damages associated with infringement and to estimate reasonable royalties, principally in the technology sector, with additional experience in niche industries, including fine art. Dr. Banovetz has also supported economic and industry experts in technology and healthcare, primarily in calculating damages in pharmaceutical litigation.

Prior to working as a consultant, Dr. Banovetz’s research focused on “bandit” models as a tool to assess behavioral forces in decision-making, which was published in American Economic Journal: Microeconomics.
