Principal Emeritus Dr. Ahmad Faruqui is an energy economist whose consulting practice encompasses rate design, demand response, distributed energy resources, demand forecasting, decarbonization, electrification and energy efficiency, and load flexibility. In his career, Dr. Faruqui has advised some 150 clients in 12 countries on five continents and appeared before regulatory bodies, governments, and legislative councils.

Principal Benjamin Sacks has over 20 years of experience assisting corporations, investors, US government agencies, and foreign governments to develop and present economic and financial testimony in complex litigations and arbitrations. He serves as a testifying expert in both international arbitrations and US court matters.
Competition
Principal Daniel McFadden is the Presidential Professor of Health Economics at the University of Southern California, where he has joint appointments at the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy and the Department of Economics at USC Dornsife College. He is also the E. Morris Cox Professor Emeritus of Economics at the University of California at Berkeley. He was awarded the 2000 Nobel Prize in Economics for his work developing methods and theory used in analyzing how consumers and households make choices from sets of discrete alternatives.
Principal Dr. Loren Smith, co-leader of Brattle’s global Antitrust & Competition practice, specializes in applying economic and econometric tools to antitrust and competition matters, with a focus on horizontal and vertical mergers. He has been the lead economic expert for both government agencies and private parties in regulatory investigations, federal merger challenges, and private litigations in numerous industries in the US and internationally.
Canada 2022
Principal Dr. Renée Duplantis, leader of Brattle’s Canadian Antitrust & Competition practice, has nearly 20 years of experience involving complex competition matters in Canada, the United States, and Europe. She is a former Chief Economist at the Canadian Competition Bureau.
Senior Associate Ian Cass has a decade of experience involving complex competition matters, with a particular focus on merger analysis of competitive effects and efficiencies.
