Professor Easton is an expert in corporate valuation and financial statement analysis.

He has provided expert testimony in numerous cases involving valuation of mergers, acquisitions, and spin-offs. He is the Notre Dame Alumni Professor of Accounting and Director of the Center for Accounting Research and Education at the Mendoza College of Business, University of Notre Dame. His teaching, as well as a large part of his expert testimony, involves detailed analysis of financial statements, valuing corporate stocks, assets and liabilities, forecasting future financial statements, and exploring the link between the financial statement information and value.

Professor Easton is the author of widely-adopted textbooks including Financial Accounting for MBAs and Financial Statement Analysis and Valuation. His research on accounting information and securities valuation is published in the leading academic journals. He has served as an associate editor for each of the four leading academic accounting journals in the US and for the leading academic accounting journals in Australia, Canada, and in the UK. He is currently an editor of the Review of Accounting Studies. He regularly speaks at workshops and conferences worldwide.
