Dr. Edlin, a Professor at the University of California, Berkeley, is a leading authority in economics and law, specializing in antitrust economics and law.
He is the Richard W. Jennings Professor of Law and Professor of Economics at the University of California, Berkeley, and has previously held teaching or research appointments at Columbia, Georgetown, Harvard, Stanford, and Yale Universities. As a consultant, Dr. Edlin’s work focuses on litigation, particularly in the antitrust and intellectual property fields for a variety of industries.
Dr. Edlin previously served on the President Obama campaign’s competition policy committee, and worked as a Senior Economist specializing in industrial organization, regulation, and antitrust for the President’s Council of Economic Advisors under the Clinton administration. He is founder and Chairman of bepress, a software company, and formerly an academic publisher. Dr. Edlin is also a founding editor of The Economists’ Voice and The B. E. Journal in Economic Analysis & Policy, and has been an associate editor of The Journal of Law, Economics, and Organizations and The Journal of Industrial Economics.
Dr. Edlin is a prolific author on articles pertaining to industrial organization, competition policy, antitrust law, and other issues in economics, law, and public policy. In addition, with P. Areeda and L. Kaplow, he is coauthor of Antitrust Analysis, a leading casebook on antitrust. Dr. Edlin is the recipient of numerous research awards, including the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship and the Hoover National Fellowship. He has also led seminars and workshops at highly-regarded universities and institutions worldwide.
