Brattle Consultants Provide Expert Statements in Legal Action Against Ireland’s National Asset Management Agency
Dr. Michael Cragg and Mr. Joseph Belanger, consultants in Brattle’s Cambridge office, were featured in an article on the front page of the September 10, 2010 Irish Times for their submission of expert statements in a legal action brought against Ireland’s National Asset Management Agency (Nama). The article, “Developer recruits Nobel winner to keep out of Nama,” discusses Irish property developer Paddy McKillen’s legal actions to prevent the transfer of his bank loans to Nama, a state-run agency that acquires unpaid property development loans. Mr. McKillen, who claims his business loans at Bank of Ireland were being repaid in full and that their transfer to Nama would have a “drastic and significantly detrimental” impact on his businesses, has also secured the testimony of Joseph Stiglitz, a Nobel Prize winning economist who has worked with Dr. Cragg in submitting expert affidavits in other financial-related legal actions in the U.S. For more information, please visit the Irish Times website.
