Principal Dr. Renée Duplantis is the leader of Brattle’s Canadian Competition Practice, and a former T.D. MacDonald Chair in Industrial Economics (Chief Economist) at the Canadian Competition Bureau. She has almost 20 years of experience involving complex competition matters in Canada, the US, and Europe.
Senior Associate Ian Cass specializes in complex competition matters, with a particular focus on merger analysis of competitive effects and efficiencies. His expertise includes supporting clients and experts in matters before the Canadian Competition Bureau and the Competition Tribunal, as well as in high-profile antitrust litigation in the US.
WWL – Mining Experts: 2022
Principal Dr. Florin Dorobantu specializes in valuation and quantification of damages with a focus on international arbitration. His experience in the mining industry includes expert testimony and consulting advice in engagements concerning copper, gold, silver, iron, nickel, uranium, tantalum, coal, and phosphates mining projects.
Academic Advisor Graham Davis, who is Professor Emeritus in the Division of Economics and Business at the Colorado School of Mines, has provided consulting to both major and junior mining companies as well as multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the World Trade Organization. He provides expert testimony in litigation and arbitration matters involving the valuation of mining projects, commercial damages, and royalty agreements.
