Dr. Nuñez is an economist with corporate and consulting experience in finance, valuation, securities, and trading. He has prepared expert testimony on valuation matters before the ICSID and the ICC, and has advised clients in international arbitration proceedings and in litigation in US federal and state courts.
In the context of international arbitration, Dr. Nuñez values assets in Latin America and around the world across industries including financial institutions, energy, mining, natural resources, telecommunications, paper and packaging products, hospitality, and leisure services. He is also experienced in securities and financial matters. In litigation resulting from the global financial crisis, he worked extensively on mortgage-backed securities matters, and developed benchmark fixed income portfolios to evaluate the performance and suitability of investments.
Dr. Nuñez has in-house experience in both the corporate and legal sectors. Prior to joining Brattle, he was a senior consultant with Robins Kaplan, where he advised partners and clients in all phases of financial litigation, including case development and strategy, discovery, depositions, preparation of expert reports and testimony, and trial. Before that, as a senior economist with Cargill’s Global Capital Markets Group, Dr. Nuñez advised corporate leadership on asset liability management, interest rate, commodity, and currency hedging. He also developed trading strategies across money markets, fixed income, currency, and commodity markets.
